2008 National Collegiate Basketball Hall of Fame Weekend

The nation’s spotlight will once again shine on Kansas City for a high-profile, four-day celebration that has quickly become one of college basketball’s greatest events. The National Collegiate Basketball Hall of Fame Weekend combines the game’s great names of yesterday with some of the top college teams of today.





This newest class includes seven individuals who have made significant contributions to the game of college basketball.



Danny Manning – University of Kansas' All-Time leader in scoring and rebounding, a consensus two-time All-American, and a three-time Big Eight Player of the Year.

Charles Barkley – One of four players to compile 1,183 points, 806 rebounds and 137 assists in his collegiate career.

Arnie FerrinThe only four-time All-America in the history of the University of Utah basketball program.



Dick Vitale – ESPN college basketball analyst since 1979 and former recipient of the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame's Curt Gowdy Media Award

Billy Packer - Lead analyst of CBS' college basketball coverage for 28 seasons and won a Sports Emmy Award in 1993 for Outstanding Sports Personality/Analyst.




Nolan Richardson - The only coach to win a national junior college title, a postseason NIT crown, and the NCAA championship.

Jim Phelan – One of the game's all-time winners with a record of 830 wins and 524 losses over the course of 49 basketball seasons.

College Basketball Experience Extravaganza

    A day-long celebration of college basketball at the CBE featuring celebrity appearances.

Sunday, November 23rd
Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony
      At the College Basketball Experience

         5:45pm – News Conference with Honorees and Presenters
         6:30pm – Hall of Fame Grand Reception

    On the floor of Sprint Center
8:00pm – Hall of Fame Induction Awards Show


Monday, November 24th
CBE Classic Semi-Final Doubleheader
    At the Sprint Center
         Kansas, Florida, Syracuse, and Washington State will advance from the regional rounds                              to battle for the CBE Classic Championship in Kansas City.


Tuesday, November 25th
CBE Classic Championship Doubleheader
    At the Sprint Center
        
         It’s Championship time, as the winners from Monday’s contests battle for the
         CBE Classic Title.
