Inside the Gallery of Honor of the National Collegiate Basketball Hall of Fame, visitors pay homage to legendary coaches and players in a setting reflective of the reverence and respect they have earned. Greatness lives here.
Visitors will select and view video about an inductee and catch beams of light with the most recent inductee names in the palm of their hand.
The Mentors’ Circle activity is a sculptural element that abstractly resembles a basketball net with a ball going through the hoop. It is a round, semi-enclosed area with a large opening for visitor entrance. Inside the Mentor’s Circle, one kiosk with a large screen allows visitors to view videos of prominent coaches paying homage to their Mentors.
Adjacent to the Mentors’ Circle activity is the Mentor's Circle Kiosk, a smaller, round, semi-enclosed area that mimics the design of the Mentors’ Circle. Inside, one kiosk station enables visitors to leave behind their own testimonials.
Across from Mentors’ Circle on a concave wall is a large, permanent graphic that presents the Coaching Tree. A database station in front of the graphic wall presents a digital version of the Coaching Tree which describes in graphic detail the lineages of college basketball coaches.
The Honor Theater is a black box theater with two projectors combining to run one seamless presentation on the projection screens. A larger than life film immerses visitors in the intensity and passion of college basketball. Presented in 8 short segments, the film is a powerful and beautiful tribute to the game, its contributors, and its significance beyond the court.
Epochs of the Game is a corridor of history, presenting in exhilarating, graphic detail, the history of the game’s creation and the progression of men’s collegiate basketball. Larger than life size graphics combine with eye-catching text to tell the exciting history from the 1890’s to the present.
Dramatic photos, text, and artifacts celebrate the reigning champions of the past year’s NCAA trophy and NABC awards. Visitors see these trophies and realize how much desire and dedication is involved in winning these awards. Presented at the end of the Epoch’s of the Game, the awards represent the continuing history of college basketball.
