At only 5'10", "Dugie" Martin was one of the scrappiest guards in college basketball history. He led the University of Texas to the NCAA Final Four in 1947 and was named All-American in 1949. Martin scored 49 points in the Longhorns' win over Texas Christian University in 1949. Martin entered the NBA in 1949 and was an excellent playmaker for Minneapolis Lakers and St. Louis Hawks, winning four championships in his first five seasons with the Lakers and another championship with the Hawks. Martin is considered one of the greatest small guards to ever play in the NBA.
