Inducted in 2009

As National Coach of the Year in 1973, Bartow guided Memphis State to the National Championship game against UCLA. He succeeded John Wooden at UCLA in 1975 and took the Bruins to the 1976 Final Four. The following year, Bartow became the first athletics director and head coach at the University of Alabama-Birmingham where he led the Blazers to seven straight NCAA Tournament appearances.
