As Michigan's first basketball superstar, Russell could play any position on the floor. He averaged 27 points and 9 rebounds during his three year career. He led the Wolverines to three straight Big 10 championships and two consecutive Final Fours in 1964 and 1965. Russell was a three-time All-America selection and a two-time Big Ten Player of the Year.
